El Salvador Santa Leticia (le-TEE-chee--uh)Located in Western El Salvador is Santa Leticia, the Valdivieso family Coffee Estate. It is nestled in the lush mountains of El Salvador. Santa Leticia was founded approximately 120 years ago by Francisco Menendez, not only the country’s president, but also the author of El Salvador’s first democratic constitution. Santa Leticia is nearly a mile-high in elevation with a year round tropical climate and proximity to the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean. Formal Cupping Notes: Fragrant, with a medium-full body and chocolate flavors that finish clean with a subtle hint of cinnamon and berries. Very well balanced with notes of orange appearing as the cup cools. Best roasted to a full city, or 5-10 seconds into the 2nd crack. Excellent as a single estate French-press coffee. Also produces distinct sweetness with a slight trace of a pleasant, acidic "snap" as a stand alone espresso shot. City roast works well for drip or Toddy brewing.
. Note: these are green coffee beans |
