Very rich aroma , mild, clean tasting in the cup. Medium acidity (brightness), light to medium body. This is a very well balanced cup. The flavor is semi-sweet, kind of light orange notes with a nice aftertaste. Very high grown, making for a rather hard bean that holds up well to a darker roast, however, we like it right at about City + to capture the best of the citric nuances. Oh yes, the "SHG" stands for "Strictly High Grown". Typically this means the beans endured a longer growing season than their lower-grown coffee counterparts. A longer growing season usually means a harder bean, which often is a good thing. Note: these are green coffee beans |
