Ethiopian Limmu
Limmu coffee is renowned for its good cup, sweet, spicy/winey flavor and
balanced body and is therefore sought after by many roasters. Washed Limmu
coffee is one of the premium gourmet coffees worldwide. Very similar to
Sidamo and Yirgacheffe - as one would expect since it they are right next
to each other geographically. Generally speaking, Limmu coffee is different
from its next door neighbors (Sidamo, Yirg) because of a slightly more
citric snap to it. The bean is medium in size, has a distinctive rounded
shape and greenish color.
Best roasted into a rolling first crack and brewed either press-pot (aka
French Press) or drip brewer. Also makes for an interesting lighter roasted
espresso (relative to generally darker roasted espresso style). Just make
sure to let it rest for two to four days (four days is optimal).
Note: these are unroasted green coffee beans |
