This coffee is of the Caturra Catimor Catuaí varietal. It is fully washed and grown at 1,200 - 1,300 metres (3,900-4,200 feet) above sea level.

El Quetzal Estate is a large and immaculately-managed operation Matagalpa region of central Nicaragua. El Quetzal borders the El Arenal national park which is part of the protected bio-corridor which is being set aside for the Quetzal, an exotic Central American native bird species and a revered national symbol in Guatemala.

Cupping Notes:

Mild acidity, full body,.sweet cocoa, molasses, anise. Hints of pipe tobacco emerge as it cools. Moderate lingering pleasant aftertaste.

Roasting notes: Holds up well to a dark roast for those that desire. The mild acidity of this coffee makes it an excellent choice for single origin espresso.
